- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing
- Green food coloring (for decoration)
- Green sugar sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Blend the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball with the back of a spoon or your fingers.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Whisk the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create icing once the cookies have fully cooled.
- Spread the icing over the cookies and decorate with green sugar sprinkles if desired.
Notes
Allow butter and cream cheese to soften to room temperature for the best results. Chill the dough if too soft to handle.
