Description
Easy crab cheese crescent rolls recipe Delicious cheesy seafood appetizer ready in minutes Perfect for parties or quick snacks
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 6 ounces lump crab meat, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (light or regular)
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: Everything bagel seasoning, for topping
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, drained crab meat, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, green onions, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Be gentle when mixing to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much. Tip: For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a dash of hot sauce!
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough and separate them into individual triangles. Place the triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the crab and cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. Spread the filling evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle up towards the point. Gently press the edges to seal the filling inside. Shape the rolls into a crescent shape.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the tops of the filled crescent rolls with the egg wash. This will give them a beautiful golden-brown color. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the filling is heated through. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- Remove the baked crescent rolls from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a serving platter. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Substitutions: For a lighter version, use Neufchâtel cheese instead of cream cheese. Imitation crab meat can be used as a budget-friendly alternative to lump crab meat. Greek yogurt can replace mayonnaise for a tangier and healthier option.
- For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a dash of hot sauce!
