Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 10 ounces white and/or dark candy melts
  • 3/4 cup holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt, mixing just until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Fit a cookie press with your chosen disk and fill it with the prepared dough; press onto lined baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until set but not overly browned. Cool on a wire rack.
  7. Melt the candy melts according to package instructions, dip cooled cookies into the chocolate, and decorate with sprinkles.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy creaming. Consider variations with peppermint extract or mini chocolate chips.
