Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat the butter and sugar in a larger bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
  5. Incorporate your dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Add the cotton candy flavoring and stir until combined.
  7. Divide the batter among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool.
  9. Beat the butter for the frosting until creamy, then gradually add in the powdered sugar.
  10. Stir in heavy cream, cotton candy flavoring, and food coloring, beating until smooth.
  11. Frost the cooled cupcakes with the cotton candy frosting.
