Description

A refreshing salad combining tart apples, crunchy celery, and rich walnuts, enveloped in a creamy dressing.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced tart apples
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts or pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Add the diced apples to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle the sugar and lemon juice over the apples, tossing them gently to coat.
  3. Fold in the diced celery, halved grapes, and roughly chopped nuts.
  4. In another bowl, whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the mayonnaise until fully integrated.
  6. Unite the whipped cream mixture with the apple and vegetable medley.
  7. Season with kosher salt to taste and blend well.
  8. Cover the salad and chill in the refrigerator for one hour or overnight.
  9. Serve on crisp lettuce leaves if desired.

Notes

For a healthier twist, substitute Greek yogurt for half the mayonnaise.
