- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup pan drippings or butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- Salt and pepper to taste (for gravy)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a shallow dish.
- Whisk together the eggs and milk in another shallow dish.
- Dredge each cube steak in the flour mixture, dip it into the egg mixture, and return to the flour for a final coating.
- Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the steaks in batches, frying for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove the steaks and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Use the pan drippings or melt butter in the skillet, whisk in 1/4 cup flour to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, simmering until thickened for about 5-7 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot, pouring gravy over the fried steak.
