- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for swirl)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for swirl)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (for swirl)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Combine egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl, and whisk until well mixed.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Mix the cinnamon swirl ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan; drizzle half of the cinnamon mixture over the top, then add the remaining batter and drizzle the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
- Draw through the batter with a knife or skewer to create swirls.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Try adding nuts or raisins for extra texture.
