Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for swirl)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl, and whisk until well mixed.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Mix the cinnamon swirl ingredients together in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan; drizzle half of the cinnamon mixture over the top, then add the remaining batter and drizzle the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
  7. Draw through the batter with a knife or skewer to create swirls.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Try adding nuts or raisins for extra texture.
