Description

A tender, moist cake soaked in a sweet, creamy mixture, blending the flavors of cinnamon rolls with the enjoyment of a poke cake.


Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix, plus ingredients specified on the box (usually eggs, water, and oil)
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 4 oz of softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the cake batter according to package instructions, mixing in the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Pour the batter into the greased dish and spread evenly.
  4. Bake as directed on the cake mix box.
  5. While the cake bakes, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  6. Allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes, then poke holes all over using a wooden spoon handle.
  7. Pour the milk mixture over the cake, letting it soak for at least 20 minutes.
  8. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the cream cheese mixture over the top of the cake.
  10. Slice and serve your masterpiece!

Notes

Use room-temperature ingredients for a smooth batter. For a richer flavor, consider making the cake a day ahead.
