- 1 box of vanilla cake mix, plus ingredients specified on the box (usually eggs, water, and oil)
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 4 oz of softened cream cheese
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the cake batter according to package instructions, mixing in the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour the batter into the greased dish and spread evenly.
- Bake as directed on the cake mix box.
- While the cake bakes, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes, then poke holes all over using a wooden spoon handle.
- Pour the milk mixture over the cake, letting it soak for at least 20 minutes.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the cream cheese mixture over the top of the cake.
- Slice and serve your masterpiece!
Notes
Use room-temperature ingredients for a smooth batter. For a richer flavor, consider making the cake a day ahead.
