Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Crack in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
  5. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  8. Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are gooey.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet briefly before transferring to a wire rack and dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute half the butter with unsweetened applesauce or use whole wheat flour.
