- 14 ounces smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1½ teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and sear until browned on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Cajun seasoning, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the rinsed rice, stirring to coat it in drippings and oil.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a low boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18 to 20 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, drizzle honey over the dish, and gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Allow sausage to sear well for deeper flavor. Optional: Add bell peppers or onions for more texture.
