Description

A delightful journey through bold flavors with smoky sausage, sweet honey, and warm Cajun spices, all cooked in one skillet for an easy family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1½ teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and sear until browned on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and Cajun seasoning, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the rinsed rice, stirring to coat it in drippings and oil.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a low boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18 to 20 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat, drizzle honey over the dish, and gently stir to combine.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Allow sausage to sear well for deeper flavor. Optional: Add bell peppers or onions for more texture.
