Description
A comforting dish of bowtie pasta and ground beef simmered in rich tomato sauce, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to the package instructions until it’s al dente, about 10-12 minutes.
- Drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Add the ground beef to a large skillet over medium heat. Break apart the meat as it browns until it’s no longer pink.
- Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Toss in the cooked bowtie pasta and stir well to coat.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the dish.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and additional Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Ensure to cook the pasta al dente and drain excess fat from the beef for a lighter dish. Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
