Description

A delightful dish showcasing creamy brie, tart blackberries, and aromatic basil, topped with crunchy candied pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups blackberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 basil leaves
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Remove the top layer of rind from the brie cheese.
  3. Place the brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Combine the blackberries, sugar, water, salt, and balsamic vinegar in a saucepan.
  5. Mash the berries to release their juices.
  6. Cook the mixture over medium-high heat until it thickens, about 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and add basil leaves to steep for 10 minutes.
  8. Toast the chopped pecans in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  9. Sprinkle sugar over the toasted pecans and add butter. Stir until coated.
  10. Spread pecans on a plate to cool.
  11. Pour the blackberry sauce over the brie and sprinkle with candied pecans.
  12. Bake for 5-7 minutes until warmed through.
  13. Serve with an assortment of crackers.

Notes

Drizzle extra balsamic reduction for added elegance and customize with different nuts or spices.
