- 1 wheel of brie cheese
- 1 1/2 cups blackberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 basil leaves
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Remove the top layer of rind from the brie cheese.
- Place the brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Combine the blackberries, sugar, water, salt, and balsamic vinegar in a saucepan.
- Mash the berries to release their juices.
- Cook the mixture over medium-high heat until it thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add basil leaves to steep for 10 minutes.
- Toast the chopped pecans in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sprinkle sugar over the toasted pecans and add butter. Stir until coated.
- Spread pecans on a plate to cool.
- Pour the blackberry sauce over the brie and sprinkle with candied pecans.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until warmed through.
- Serve with an assortment of crackers.

Drizzle extra balsamic reduction for added elegance and customize with different nuts or spices.
