Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Cold Unsalted Butter (cut into small cubes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick slices and toss them with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the apple mixture.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes until the filling bubbles and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Let the apple crisp cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
