- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
- 1 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1 cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Cold Unsalted Butter (cut into small cubes)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick slices and toss them with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the apple mixture.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until the filling bubbles and the topping is golden brown.
- Let the apple crisp cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
