Description
Crispy, sweet Air Fryer Apple Fries are a healthier alternative to traditional fries, combining the goodness of apples with a delectable cinnamon coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (such as Fuji or Gala)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Begin by peeling and coring the apples. Slice them into thin strips.
- In a small bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.
- Take each apple strip and dip it into the beaten egg, then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar flour mixture.
- Place the coated apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Lightly spray the apple fries with cooking spray or drizzle with melted butter.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Once cooked, remove and sprinkle with brown sugar if desired.
- Serve warm, optionally with caramel or chocolate dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crunch, add chopped nuts to the flour mixture. Squeeze lemon juice on the apple slices to prevent browning.
